COVID-19 286K Bonus for Escorts

Sadly, the number of cases of COVID-19 continues to climb globally.  Many escorts have lost their sole source of income during Lockdown in the UK and are facing financial hardship.

AdultWork.com understands the difficulty that many escorts are currently experiencing due to the COVID-19 Lockdown.  In this article, we’re going to provide you with some helpful information.

What is AdultWork.com doing to help?

We’re giving away a monumental 286,000 credits during the COVID-19 Lockdown.

If you’re advertising as an Escort on AdultWork.com and have not previously offered DirectCam, DirectChat or Phone chat, now may be the perfect opportunity for you to do so.  You may be eligible for a credit bonus on 1 June 2020.

We are giving away a bonus of 143 credits to the first 1,000 escorts to earn 200 credits on DirectCam, that meet the criteria below.

In consideration of those escorts who currently only have a phone and may not have the funds to purchase a webcam, we are also offering a bonus of 143 credits to the first 1,000 escorts to earn 50 credits on DirectChat and Phone Chat, that meet the criteria below.

If you are eligible, that equates to a little over 100 credits when withdrawn or 143 credits if you spend them on-site.

We have already published guides here on Insider to assist you in moving to online activities.  We also have some “How To” videos here.

We've updated the DirectCam broadcaster which doesn’t rely on Flash player.  You can use it from your desktop, laptop, phone and tablet. Two-way cam should be a much better experience as well.  Read the 'DirectCam Helper' guide here.

Can I get financial support or aid?

  • Registered self-employed persons through HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs) may be entitled to claim a grant through the ‘COVID-19 Self-employment Income Support Scheme’.  If you have lost income due to COVID-19, you may qualify for this grant.  More information on this grant can be found here.
  • Universal Credit – you may be eligible – visit the Universal Credit website’s self-employed section here also.
  • Mortgage and payment holidays are being made widely available for people affected by COVID-19.  This means you agree with your lender that you will not have to make payments for a set time.  Payment holidays are designed to help you when you may experience payment difficulties (in this case due to the COVID-19 situation).  You can find information on the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) website here.
  • Renters and Landlord protection – The UK Government has brought forward a package of measures to protect renters affected by COVID19.  The information on the GOV.UK website here sets out that Landlords will now have to give all renters 3 months notice if they intend to seek possession.
  • Turn2us is a national charity providing practical help to people who are struggling financially.  They can help point you in the right direction for any benefits or grants you may be entitled to.  You can visit their site here.
  • Step Change is the UK’s leading debt charity providing expert advice and fee-free debt management to help you tackle your debts.  They offer great advice on how to deal with a reduced income due to the coronavirus.  You can visit their site for useful information and guides here.

The links above will hopefully prove to be of use to you.  However, if you’re in doubt, as with any financial please speak to an accountant.

Hardship Funds

Hardship funds set up by SWARMUmbrella Lane and SWAI are also available.  These can be a great benefit to sex workers.  The initiatives allow an accessible and quick means to provide basic support to marginalised and vulnerable groups – these should be valued and supported.

Keeping Safe

Your physical and mental health is important.  For more information about COVID-19, including identifying symptoms and what you need to do if you think you have been exposed to the virus, online help can be found through the NHS online COVID-19 service here.

The World Health Organisation has released guidance on how to take care of your mental health during the coronavirus pandemic, you can see this on the BBC News site here.  The guidance suggests only reading the news on the virus once or twice a day at specific times, having a routine and checking in with loved ones regularly.  You can find sex worker-friendly therapy services on Adult Industry Services and in our Support Services listings.  There are professionals who are available and ready to help.

As always, the most up to date information can be found on our Current Status Page here.

We extend sympathy to anyone impacted by the virus and gratitude to the healthcare workers and organisations on the front lines battling this unprecedented disease.

Stay home, save lives.
